In an old post there the original author of the classic Ada Distilled book (Richard Riehle) mentioned that the upddated 2012 edition was being prepared by Ed Colbert. Is it already available? Where can I download it?
Thanks

Probably it is not ready yet, otherwise someone would have replied.

Well, I haven't seen it yet. Be careful of waiting for ghostware.

I talked with Ed yesterday. He is working on the update. He is also including some new, fully coded and working, examples of the new Ada fearures. Some od them will be in the new Appendix to the book.

Ed has created some new examples to highlight the significant changes in the language.

It might be ready in a few months, depending on how the testing of the new examples proceeds. Yes, we have had a long standing policy of ensuring the coded examples compile and execute as intended.

Meanwhile, I am thinking about teaching an on-line, for credit, graduate level (MS) course in Ada under the umbrella of the school where I am currently an adjunct faculty, International Technological University (www.itu.edu) in San Jose, CA. ITU is a non-profit school focused on engineering, IT, software engineering, and computer science.

If there is sufficient interest from the Ada community, including contractors and others, I may be able to persuade the school to let me teach this class on-line across international borders. You may send me an email at rriehle@itu.edu, if you have some people who would want to enroll in such a course.

Richard Riehle, PhD

Awesome news!
Thank you (and Ed) for your work.

Sadly I don't know of anyone [offhand] who would be interested in the course and has the disposable money at present.

This is exciting news. Is there no chances for early sneak preview without the appendix.

AFAIK, it is only available for Kindle. You could try contacting Riehle directly.

There is nothing wrong with MOBI or, maybe, you mean AZW?

Anyway, you can install Calibre. It has an integrated format conversion
tool and plug-ins to remove DRM (e.g. by conversion AZW to MOBI). Unless
you blindly trust Amazon services... otherwise archive and backup your
library.

You need to manage the library anyway regardless where you get the
e-books. Calibre does pretty much everything one needs.

I'd also be interested in a pdf or epub. I don't mind paying for the
file, but I don't use a Kindle and don't want to buy a download from
Amazon. It's not high priority for me so I'll just watch here in case
of updates.

I bought the book "Ada Distilled: ISO 2012 standard". Unfortunately, the editing of the version I received from Amazon is terrible, in many places the editing completely falls apart. (I don't have a Kindle reader, I use the PC version.)
Richard Riehle on LinkedIn wrote that if someone asks for an updated version of the book in pdf format, he will send it to them via private message.
Unfortunately, I cannot contact him on LinkedIn, so I would like to ask for his help.
Many thanks!
