Potential Emacs users should also realize that you can do a lot of stuff just with vc, which supports a variety of backends, including both CVS and RCS. Recently I've starting playing around with the vc command to change backends, which allows me to use RCS to keep track of source changes locally, when I'm off network (and hence unable to use CVS).
