--> Portability and style in Ada, edited by John Nissen and Peter Wallis.
Cambridge University Press, 1984 (The Ada Companion Series)

This book came out of the Ada-Europe Portability Working Group.

p.s. The Ada Companion Series also includes a hard-covered and reduced
LRM, the conference proceedings of the last two Ada-Europe meetings,
as well as some interesting tasking-related books. They all look
very nice on your bookshelf. (I like CUP, so consider this a plug.)

I'm trying to help a large project adopt or adapt a good Ada style
guide. I'm currently comparing some existing style guides but I'd like
some feedback from the Ada-community-at-large.

One style guide that has been recommended a number of times is the
Software Productivity Consortium's book ``Ada Quality and Style:
Guidelines for Professional Programmers''. According to the March 1991
Ada-IC newsletter the AJPO is even ``investigating the possibility of
purchasing the data rights to the SPC guide.. the guide could then be
issued as a military handbook.''

I have the following questions:

1. Who has adopted the SPC style guide?

2. What experiences have you/they had with the SPC guide? Is it useful?
   Do you/they like it?

3. Are there other style guides I should look at? I already know about
the old AJPO style guide (from NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center) and
the STGT style guide. If so, can you answer questions 1 & 2 for
   that guide?

4. Is there anything else I should know about Ada style guides?
