Uh-oh.  History is about to be made:  Dave comes to Greg's defense....

Jim, Greg's address has been srctran@world.std.com for quite some
time now.  I personally have no reason to believe that Greg would be
trying to do something deceptive to make you think he was somebody
else.  In spite of my vigorous disagreement with Greg's prose, the
_last_ thing I've found Greg to be is deceptive.  I'd say his style
was something of the opposite :-)

Greg's always posted from that address, for as long as I've had the
distinct pleasure of reading his posts.  His company is named
Source Translation and Optimization, so I don't see that this is a
problem at all, nor a violation of netiquette.

Normally his posts are listed by my news reader by his Real Name, this time my 
news reader listed by the account name. Greg, I was a little quick with this

Actually, Greg's full name usually appears in header of his articles
along with his e-mail address.  This particular article only had his
e-mail address in the header for some reason.  This can mess up killfiles
for some newsreaders (nn killfiles, for example, usually search for the
poster's real name).  "srctran@world.std.com" is indeed his usual account.

There might be some kind of glitch with Greg's account or with
world.std.com, but it hardly seems like a conspiracy to evade killfiles.
Greg, you migth want to look into why your real name didn't show up.

Maybe I can bring some light into this topic:
It looks like, in the past, the From: line in the header read

     From: srctran@world.std.com (Gregory Aharonian)

And this time, it reads

     From: srctran@world.std.com

without the parentheses (and without the real name). Therefore your news
reader could not list the real name. (And could not kill that article.)

You will probably not be the only one whose newsreader did not get it.

      In any case, "killing the messenger" has not, historically,
      proven to be a very good long-term strategy.
