Why does Intermetrics publicly undermine Ada?

    There has been a lot of puffery from the folks at Intermetrics on 
their valiant attempts to market Ada83, and plans to market Ada9X.
    Well, when you read this stuff, and future claims from these guys,
keep in mind the following fact:

	There is a magazine titled "Embedded Systems Programming"
   published by Miller Freeman with a subscription base of about 30,000.
   It thus covers a good deal of the embedded programming community.
   In the four-plus years of its life, in almost every issue, there
   have been one, and occasionally two, full page ads from Intermetrics.
   Not one of these ads has ever mentioned Ada, never, never, never.
   All that Intermetrics seems to want to be associated with in the
   greater embedded world is the C language.  Four years of ads (and
   Ada contracts) and not one ad mentioning Ada.

   On the other hand, every other issue or so, Alsys has run a full
   page ad for its Ada compiler and real time products.


     So when Tucker and others defend their Ada9X actions based on marketing
considerations, and criticize Jean for his Ada9X marketing views, keep in
mind that when it comes to marketing Ada in one of the few niches it has a
role, embedded systems programming, Intermetrics doesn't put its money where
its mouth is, while Alsys does.

   Imagine that, four years of full page ads in Embedded Systems Programming
by Intermetrics and not one mention of Ada, even in those once a year monthly
special editions focussing on Ada.  Nothing, nothing, nothing.
