Hi Chris,

http://macada.org/  is probably the best place to start your search.  Not 
sure if there's an IDE right there but there's one on the main picture so 
perhaps there they could help you find a Mac IDE.

The site <http://www.macada.org/macosx.html> has GNAT for Mac. It 
works in the usual way from the command line. It also works with 
Apple's IDE, Xcode, which is included with Mac OS.

In addition to Apples Xcode (which works very nicely with Ada) both
Codeforge and VisualSlickEdit works on osx and supports ada.  Oh and of
course ada mode in emacs is also supported on os x.

The best IDE for Ada on Mac OS X in my opinion is XCode. I personally I 
use XCode, but have the source code open in an external editor, ie. 
Carbon Enhanced EMacs :-)

But I'd also love to see the actuality of this confirmed by a seasoned 
"Ada on Mac" person in this group. Me I'm just "switching". I'm waiting 
for the new iBook 12" at 1.2GHz with Airport (wireless g). It's expected 
in 3 weeks in Portugal. The global economy is very slow.

Well, several of the contributors, posting in this thread, have been 
using Ada on Mac since 1994. The present incarnation for Mac OS X 
does indeed run with Xcode, as shown on Dr. Miller's site above. The 
integration is excellent: edit, compile, debug, step, trace, 
breakpoint, profile--all from the GUI. I also use gnatmake from the 
command line regularly.

You'll see when your Mac arrives. Sorry you have to wait:-)

Great! The indications were strong, but it's great to be reassured first 
hand. (Because both Ada and Mac are minorities, the conjunction felt 
like it could be a forgotten corner of the universe.) Thanks a lot.

For what its worth i did a lot of the IDE integration and got apple to
put in some things as well to support Ada.  I use it for my work nearly
every day.  I do both mac native apps as well as Gtk apps that i host
ob both os x and on linux all the time.  

it is a very robust system and i enjoy working with it.  The fact that
i use it for my work and not just my hobby means i have a VERY strong
incentive to keep it working well ;-)

The GUI for gdb works very nicely as well (Thanks to Stephen Bespalco)
and Andrew And Al Reynolds keep the compiler humming along.
