Interesting... http://www.b737.org.uk/glareshield.htm#fcc indicates that
Collins is responsible for the component that processes this sensor (Though
I suspect the inputs go through the GE Aviation FMS/FMC -- which likely
means only the primary FMS side is passed on). The FCC is more what might
be considered a "classic" "auto-pilot" [as can be seen -- desired air
speed, heading, altitude, and ascent/descent rates); the FMS handles route
optimization, GPS paths, etc. along with collecting and relaying data to
the display systems..
